Kylie Jenner has opened up about her newly dyed bright blonde hair for the first time. And guess what? It was kind of a mistake.
The 19-year-old surprised fans by debuting her new peroxide locks at NYFW this year – and this time, it wasn’t a wig.
Kylie Snapchatted the whole dying process on Snapchat to prove that yes, she really had taken the plunge and gone blonde for reals.
However, in a new interview with People, the teenage chameleon admits that it didn’t quite go to plan…
‘I really wanted a nice, honey dirty blonde’, Kylie explained. However, her mind was soon changed once the whole transformation process began.
‘When we started bleaching it, it got so light so fast and I was like, “Wow, my hair is not damaged, I can do this.”‘
‘So I went for it.’
At the time of her dye job, Kylie let fans into the entire process via Snapchat.
Her first hair transformation Snap was captioned ‘all day’, and at this point her black roots could still be seen. But in her next video her whole head is covered with bleach and she’s scratching her scalp with a comb, captioning it ‘the pain’.
Even though it was Kim’s blonde transformation at fashion week that was the most memorable, it seems like Kylie got her recent hair inspo from Kourtney. She posted a pic of a 16-year-old, blonde kourt on her Instagram, captioning it: vibes.
Kourtney spoke about bleaching her hair on her app last week, saying she would never do anything like that again because it destroyed her hair. In the past Kylie has also mentioned that she ruined her hair after being experimental with it when she was younger, and since then she’s been trying to get it back to being healthy.
Speaking back when Jen Atkin made her a darker shade of blonde she said: ‘Took months of not dying my hair and wearing wigs to get my hair back to health so I can do this!’ We reckon she’s over caring about that now, though.
After all the bleaching is done Kylie snapped a picture of her with the bee filter, captioning it: Cant decide between platinum blonde or honey.
In the last Snap hair hair is up in a bun and looks a lot warmer than it did straight after dying, so we’re assuming she went for a more golden, honey tone, slightly different to Kim’s ice white blonde.
Love it or hate it, she’s certainly rocking it!
