We were naive to think that with only 15 days left in the year, 2016 would just give us a free pass in terms of more things to be frightened off. No matter what side of the fence you sit on, we can all agree that it’s not been the best year. But okay, it gets worse, Russia is starting its very own Hunger Games, like, with murder and everything.
You might not believe us, and that’s natural. We didn’t believe this when we heard about it but a new survival reality TV series is launching in Russia with a tagline ‘everything is allowed’. And that means literally.
With tacit pride, ‘Game2: Winter’ seems to be tantalising audiences with the incentive of seeing televised violence, starvation, rape and bear attacks.
That’s right, say goodbye to culture because Russia is taking its first step to deforming the world into a barbaric dystopua. In ‘Game2: Winter’ (the worst name), 30 contestants will pay around £132,000 each to take part in a bid to win the £1.3 million prize fund. The only requireents for a constesement is to have the cash, be over 18 and be ‘mentally sane’ which is a paradox when you think about the nature of this show.
Also, if you’re the kind of person that £132 grand to just drop on a game show, you really don’t need another million, do you?
The contestants will be handed knives to hunt and fish and be let out into the Siberian wilderness where they will fight to survive for nine months against sub-zero temperatures and real life wolves and bears.
The genius behind this crime against humanity is Yevgen Pyatkovsky who said, “we will refuse any claim of participants even if they were to be killed or raped.”
“We will have nothing to do with this. This will be spelt out in a document to be signed by the participant before the start of the show.”
Can you believe this guy exists? We want to make a joke but what he’s saying is so dangerous, we shouldn’t even consider making light of it.
There will be no camera crew, it’ll be filmed by fixed placed cameras and go-pros. The laws of Russian federation apply so if there’s proof of criminality, due process will occur. However, the very nature of the show sounds like it encourages this kind of behaviour.
The show is set to release online July 2017. We pray that no-one will sign up to this Hunger Games-esque monstrosity
